Responsibilities

Full Time Outpatient Receptionist

The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:

Answer and process incoming calls in the Outpatient Department. Schedule and maintain appointments through computerized scheduling program. Utilize phone system to initiate reminder calls and schedule missed appointments. Monitor voice mail and forward messages to the appropriate recipients. Complete required daily reports. Verify and update demographic information into database. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.

Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS) is a 178-bed acute care facility located in Streamwood,IL and has been providing mental health treatment to the Chicagoland community and the state of Illinois since 1991. We are dedicated to offering services to meet the ever-changing emotional and behavioral healthcare needs of children, adolescents, and their families.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED is required.

EXPERIENCE : A minimum of one (1) year experience working with a multi-line telephone switchboard is required, preferably in a health care environment.

SKILLS REQUIRED : Bilingual (English/Spanish). Must be able to manage high call volume and multitask. Proficiency with Word, Excel, Microsoft. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work well with others. A professional, positive, friendly and helpful attitude is required along with good communication skills. Be willing and able to adapt to change.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Ability to sit for long periods (up to 8 hours); ability to use both hands in fine manipulation of small office tools (computers, telephone, copier, fax); ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate in person and on the telephone.
