As the Assistant Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing and fostering a culture that promotes employee safety and ensuring compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety laws. This includes 3 manufacturing plants on one campus and one offsite office.
  • Interacting with 700+ employees at all levels of the organization and provides training as needed.

{=html} <!-- --> - Inspecting the facilities to identify safety, health, and environmental risks. - Developing health and safety procedures for all areas of the company. - Preparing and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics. - Monitoring compliance with safety procedures. - Drafting inspection reports to document inspection findings. - Ensuring that safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.

{=html} <!-- --> - Responsible for all environmental reporting and compliance.

{=html} <!-- --> - Establishing and conducting preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.

{=html} <!-- --> - Overseeing and updates Emergency Action Plan and serves as primary contact for injury and incident notification, performs accident investigation, and provides case management. - Maintaining OSHA compliance and written log of safety inspection activities, reports, submits OSHA 300 log, and handles all safety related correspondence.

{=html} <!-- --> - Performing emergency response drills and schedules all safety related training. - Leading Risk Assessment activities and ensure corresponding documentation for corrective action is complete and up to date. - Overseeing inspections of fire extinguishers, eye-wash stations, exit lights and forklifts. - Assists HR with the administration of the Workers Compensation program and works closely with HR to oversee return to work and light duty programs. - Conducting job safety analysis, job hazard analysis and risk assessments on assigned tasks and jobs. - Executing proper management of the sites\' hazardous waste management activities to ensure 100% compliance with federal, state, local and company regulations and standards. - Partnering with Plant Managers and Human Resources regarding accountability and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy.

This is a full time, Direct Hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor\'s Degree in an EHS-related field and 2+ years of EHS experience including training and experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

  • Bi-lingual Spanish and English required.

  • OSHA 511 - OSHA Standards for General Industry course completion.

  • Experience in food manufacturing and GMPs is highly preferred.

  • Experience with ammonia and glycol cooling systems is a plus.

  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry) safety standards and EPA regulations and policies including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)

Salary: \$70,000 - 85,000/year + yearly 5% bonus

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate\'s education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
