Bridgeport Fittings INC Manufacturing Electrician in Stratford, Connecticut

**[Bridgeport Fittings will be recruiting at the Bridgeport American Job Center on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, 10am to 1pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES: ]{segoe="" ui",sans-serif"=""}**

  • Lay out, install, and repair all types of electrical equipment such as high tension switchboards and automatic controls
  • Perform all types of plant wiring including the maintenance of signal telephone or loudspeaker systems
  • Install and repair relay and ordinary lighting circuit jobs, push buttons controls, switches, cord sets, etc.
  • Must have knowledge of motors and industrial electronics
  • Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting
  • Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions for all electrically controlled equipment
  • Recommend and order spare parts and equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical school graduate; State apprentice program completed
  • Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience working as an Electrician (preferably in the Industrial environment)
  • Verifiable, formal training in Electrical Theory and Safety
  • Knowledge of PLC Programming, Troubleshooting, and Repair
  • Understanding of industrial motor control, AC/DC, invertor drives, holding circuits, and overload protection
  • Capable of troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and wiring of basic electrical components such as relays, starters, motors, drives, and switches
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics
  • Experience using common electrical tools such as Multi-Meters, Strippers/Crimpers, EMT Benders, and Threaders
  • Must be able to mechanically disassemble and assemble basic machine components with common hand tools
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal guidelines
  • Must be organized, neat, and able to work independently and as a team member
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Rockwell Automation SLC500
  • Preferred: Certificate of competition of an apprenticeship program
  • Preferred: E-2 License

Position reports to Facilities Manager

ENVIRONMENT: 100% performed in plant facilities with extensive noise and machinery running

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
