Job Description

This position is responsible for leading the Safran Aerospace Composites' trade compliance deployment. The goal of trade compliance is to ensure that all Safran entities comply with global trade rules and ethics as well as internal Safran rules and policies. Trade compliance monitors the company's purchasing activities and supplier relationships and interactions. Additionally, trade compliance rules and processes are designed to reduce the company's risk of fraud and corruption. This position will work closely with CFO, HR Manager, and General Manager locally, as well as with the Legal and SAE trade compliance teams in France.

Complementary Description

PROJECTS AND DELIVERABLES

• Responsible for trade compliance matrix and documentation. The matrix lists all internal checkpoints that need to be met for the company to reach trade compliance standards and goals, Examples of items on the matrix can include training, documentation, or processes.

• Develop and implement various trade compliance internal processes and documentation identified as needed in development of trade compliance matrix.

• Review and verify legal wording and process requirements to ensure compliance with internal Safran standards, trade rules and regulations, and US laws.

• Work with CFO, HR Manager, and General Manager for trade compliance deployment. Activities will include, but are not limited to, project timeline development, gap analysis, documentation and process development.

• Prepare and implement templates company-wide to ensure consistent and accurate execution of trade compliance policies, procedures, training, and documentation requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for leading trade compliance project

• Proposing template and deployment methodology

• Check all aspect of new process/documentation for legal / SAE process and SAC process compliance

• Link trade compliance and internal control documentation processes where applicable

• Perform audit on implemented change

Job Requirements

SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED/DEVELOPED IN POSITION

• Project management skills, including development of project scope, timeline, identification of needed resources, and interim and final goals.

• Team work and collaboration – this position is required to interact with employees at all levels within Safran Aerospace Composites as well as with the Legal and Trade Compliance team in France.

• Develop understanding of trade compliance frame of work and implementation in a company

• Gain knowledge of USA legal framework and labor laws and how these interact with Safran trade compliance requirements.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES – Education/Knowledge/Skills

• Master degree, preferably in corporate laws / legal. Law master and/or Business master acceptable too depending on chosen Major and area of focus; or Bachelor's degree with minimum 2-3 years of experience in applicable area

• Legal mindset – experience as a paralegal or legal clerk helpful. Must be detail oriented and have strong analytical skills.

• Very good to fluent in English language and its subtleties (reading / writing / speaking)

• Must be thorough and meticulous in documenting work and in development of policies and procedures.

• Project management experience preferred

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
