Summary:

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move products and materials within our facility to support production activities, accurate and timely completion of order picking tasks, and the loading and unloading of trucks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Utilize s forklifts and other material handling equipment to load and unload trucks, move products, and transport materials within the facility.

· Safely and efficiently stack s and stores materials in designated areas to optimize space utilization.

· Perform s routine inspections of forklifts and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.

· Adhere s to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, and product damage.

· P icks orders and ensures accurate and timely fulfillment of customer requests.

· Operate s forklifts to retrieve bulk pallets of food products from designated storage areas.

· Verif ies product quality and quantity, ensuring that correct items are picked for each order.

· Securely wrap s and prepares pallets for shipment, following proper packaging guidelines.

· L oads and unloads pallets onto trucks in a safe and efficient manner.

· Maintain s accurate inventory records by updating stock movements, counts, and locations in the warehouse management system.

· Conduct s regular cycle counts and assists in physical inventory counts as required.

· Identif ies and reports any inventory discrepancies, damaged products, or quality issues to the appropriate supervisor.

· Maintain s a clean and organized work area, including aisles, shelves, and storage locations.

· Assist s in receiving and inspecting incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and quality.

· Collaborate s with other team members to fulfill ad-hoc tasks and support overall warehouse operations.

Qualifications, Skills, Education and/or Experience

· Ability to complete forklift operator certification and demonstrate proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.

· Prior experience working in a food manufacturing facility or refrigerated warehouse is preferred.

· Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately follow instructions and pick orders according to specifications.

· Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

· Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and work in a refrigerated environment.

· Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management.

· Strong commitment to workplace safety and knowledge of warehouse safety regulations.

· Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. This includes lifting and moving pallets, boxes, and other materials during loading, unloading, and order picking tasks.

· Pushing and Pulling: The job may involve pushing and pulling heavy pallets and carts using physical force to maneuver them within the facility or load them onto trucks.

· Standing and Walking: The role requires prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the warehouse and manufacturing facility. The individual will be required to traverse large distances within the facility to perform various tasks.

· Climbing and Balancing: The job may involve occasional climbing of ladders or steps to access elevated storage areas or equipment. Maintaining balance while operating forklifts or while picking orders from heights may also be required .

· Stooping, Kneeling, and Crouching: The position may require bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching when retrieving or storing materials in lower-level storage areas or when inspecting and handling products.

· Manual Dexterity and Physical Coordination : M ust have good manual dexterity and physical coordination to operate forklift controls, handle packages, and load/unload trucks safely and efficiently.

· Vision and Hearing: The individual must have normal or corrected vision and hearing to operate the forklift safely, read labels and order information accurately, and communicate effectively with team members.

· Temperature Extremes: The work environment may include exposure to cold temperatures in refrigerated areas. The individual must be able to work comfortably in these temperature-controlled environments while wearing appropriate protective gear.

· Physical Stamina: The job requires physical stamina to perform tasks that may involve repetitive motion, prolonged standing, and lifting heavy objects throughout the work shift.

· Warehouse Setting: Most of the work will take place in a large, well-organized warehouse facility. The warehouse consist s of various storage areas, racks, and shelves to house a wide range of food products, ingredients, and packaging materials.

· Temperature-Controlled Areas: The refrigerated warehouse will have controlled temperature zones to ensure the freshness and quality of perishable food products. The temperature may range from cool to cold, and employees will be required to work comfortably in these cooler temperatures while wearing appropriate protective gear.

· Equipment and Machinery: The work environment will include the operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment.

· Noise Levels: The work environment may have moderate to high noise levels due to the operation of machinery, equipment, and the movement of products.

· Fast-Paced and Deadline-Driven: The work environment can be fast-paced, especially during peak periods or when fulfilling large customer orders. The Forklift Operator and Order Picker must be able to work efficiently under time constraints and meet production and shipping deadlines.
