Amergis Staffing is looking forUltrasound Technicians/Sonographers to perform a variety of specializedtechnical tasks utilizing high frequency ultrasound waves to assist with thedetection of anatomical abnormalities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasonic high frequency sound waves to detect abnormalities including masses, abscesses, and stones. Assist physicians with biopsy procedures, guiding biopsy instrument using sonographic techniques.

  • Utilize accessory equipment such as transducers, multi-format cameras, printers, and PACS workstations.

  • Prepares patients for procedures, explain procedures to patients. Report changes in patient condition to medical staff. Provide an oral and written summary of preliminary findings to the radiologist. Evaluate quality of sonograms. Determine if additional sonograms or ultrasound procedures are indicated.

  • Maintain patient records in division.

  • Charge procedures and supplies in RIS. Archive and de-archive ultrasound data. Orient new

  • Ultra-sonographers; provide education and training to new sonographers. Perform other related duties incidental to the work therein.

  • Perform a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasonic high frequency sound waves to detect abnormalities including masses, abscesses, and stones.

  • Assist physicians with biopsy procedures, guiding biopsy instrument using sonographic techniques. Perform ultrasound procedures, doppler vascular examinations, abdominal studies and color-flow ultrasound, OB-GYN procedures as required.

  • Utilize accessory equipment such as selective transducers, multi-format cameras, printers, and PACS workstations.

  • Prepares patients for procedures, explain procedures to patients. Report changes in patient condition to medical staff. Provide an oral and written summary of preliminary findings to the radiologist.

  • Evaluate quality of sonograms. Determine if additional sonograms or ultrasound procedures are indicated.

  • Maintain patient records in division.

  • Collaborate in quality control of equipment and filming and obtains service as required.

  • Proficient in the performance of ultrasound procedures.

  • Provide direction and instruction to existing personnel and training to new sonographers.

  • Act in a team leader or leadership capacity on an as needed basis.

  • Ensure correct charging of ultrasound procedures and supplies on a daily basis.

  • Other Ultrasound Technicians/Sonographer duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

  • A certification from an accredited ultrasound/sonography school related field preferred.

  • Minimum of one year of experience as an ultrasound technician/sonographer preferred.

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Current BLS card.

  • Current TB test or chest x-ray.

  • Current physical exam per state or Ultrasound Technicians/Sonographer contract requirements.

  • Successfully pass all screening exams

  • Must meet all of Amergis's pre-employment screening requirements

    The schedule would beSat-Tuesday 0700-1730 night call on Monday and Tuesday as well as someweekends.

    There is only one US tech hereat a time. They must be proficient in breast imaging as well as breast biopsy.
