WSP USA Assistant Resident Engineer in Stockton, California
This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full Time Assistant Resident Engineer for our Stockton CA office. Antioch will also be considered. Be involved in projects with our PMCM Transit Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
JOB SUMMARY: Assists the Resident Engineer in guiding and coordinating a team of construction field inspectors on critical Transit/Rail infrastructure projects. The candidate must demonstrate a solid knowledge of civil, electrical construction, and good engineering judgment in providing oversight and inspection of engineering projects of significant importance.
Your Impact
Maintain Client satisfaction of construction inspection and monitoring services
Direct and manage a team of construction inspectors and engineers
Review and respond to contractor requests for information
Enforce compliance with the construction contract documents, per Transit/Rail Agency Specifications and Manuals
Monitoring Construction in a transit/rail operating environment
Observe contractor performance for compliance with project safety protocol
Interact with construction contractors in performance of Quality Assurance inspections
Track and Monitor Contractors schedule for compliance
Review Notice of Potential Claims (NOPC) and provide recommendations, review contractors Contract Change Orders (CCO's) requests, and negotiate CCO's.
Monitor the Contractors safety compliance
Conduct weekly meeting with Contractor, Utility companies and Stake holders
Maintain schedule, budget and profitability of assigned projects
Prepare monthly reports
Track construction progress and verify contractor payments
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical engineering
Minimum 10 years of construction management experience, including transit/railroad experience
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Expected Salary: $133,400 - $198,220
