Job Title: Staff Accountant

Location:Seguin, TX hybrid

Pay Range: 60,000-80,000 per year

Job Summary:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties, with a strong focus on general ledger management. The Staff Accountant will ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations, maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. General Ledger Management:
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.

  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data in the general ledger.

  1. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
  • Process and manage accounts payable and receivable transactions.

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.

  1. Month-End Close:
  • Assist in the preparation and completion of month-end closing activities.

  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.

  1. Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

  1. Audit Support:
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including providing necessary documentation and explanations.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.

  1. Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances.

7.Tax Compliance:

  • Assist with the preparation of tax filings and other regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records for audit and tax purposes.

Special Projects:

  • Participate in special projects and process improvements as assigned.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and comprehensive financial information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.

  • 1-3 years of accounting experience with a strong emphasis on general ledger management.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

  • This position operates in a professional office environment but is a hybrid position

  • Standard business hours, with occasional overtime during peak periods.
