ASCO Aerospace USA Production Manager in Stillwater, Oklahoma

Position Summary

*Position is Located in Stillwater, OK

Purpose of the Job

This position is responsible for the planning, organization, coordination and control of all production and related support activities in the plant , in close cooperation with support departments outside of production, in order to achieve the agreed objectives of volume, quality, on time delivery and cost in a safe and positive working environment for the employees. This position performs a supporting role during customer contact related to the production.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Safety and 5S

    Implement and ensure a safe and ergonomically working environment within production in close collaboration with the EHS Manager.

  • Work accidents: create and execute action plans

  • Formulate, create and implement improvement proposals to improve work areas, taking 5S and lean principles into account

  • Ensure that all stakeholders within production comply with safety guidelines

  • Financial

    Create the annual budget in partnership with Finance. Meet or exceed budget, while achieving management objectives and production plan requirements.

  • Determine number of Full Time Employees (FTE) and reevaluate monthly

  • Creation and follow-up of Policy Deployment objectives

  • Manage and improve overall production budget

  • Manage the production inventory and support monthly inventory forecast updates: raw materials, WIP and finished parts

  • Assure and improve machine and labor efficiency

  • Provide support and input to Master Production Schedule changes

  • Quality

    Ensure that preventive and corrective actions are performed in an optimal manner in order to improve the quality of products

  • Ensure root cause analysis is performed effectively and in a timely manner

  • Analyze and respond to corrective action reports and audit findings

  • Plan and execute actions to reduce internal rework and scrap

  • Customer Contact

    Responsible for the customer contact with regards to On Time Delivery (OTD), rate reviews and recovery plans for production products.

  • People Management

    Support and guide the production team in people management aspects, and if necessary, escalate to the hierarchical management. Optimize the cross-departmental collaboration.

  • Maintain compliance to all safety, quality, equipment and regulatory regulations within production.

  • Foster a team-building and continuous improvement culture for production stakeholders and colleagues

  • Establish and enforce standard work and work instructions

  • Take disciplinary actions when required

  • Continuous Improvement

    Encourage, structure and perform continuous improvement activities within production, using lean principles

  • Encourage and take initiatives to eliminate waste

  • Initiate and implement improvement initiatives in order to support the realization of the objectives defined in the Operations Policy Deployment Matrix (PDM) Key Performance Indicators (KPI.)

  • Training & Coaching

    Ensures stakeholders have the necessary skills to perform their job activities and coaches them to be successful.

  • Responsible for the good integration of new stakeholders in the area

  • Involved in the selection procedure of new stakeholders

  • Oversees the performance review process of all stakeholders in production

  • Performs minimally once per year a performance review of each direct report.

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience and education combined

    Skills / Experience :

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in an aerospace manufacturing department

  • Previous Management/Supervisory experience is required

  • CNC Machining knowledge preferred

  • Special processes experience preferred

  • Experience with Lean principles

  • Understanding of manufacturing business metrics related to OTD, Quality, Inventory, Efficiency, Load & Capacity planning; various costs such as indirect & direct expenses, capital expense, etc.

  • Able to motivate people and develop/execute improvement plans

  • Able to handle multiple complex activities at once
