SAIC Senior Linux Systems Engineer in STERLING, Virginia

Description

SAIC is searching for a Senior Linux Systems Engineer located in Charlottesville, VA to support in the modernization of Army insider threat programs performing Army and national security missions to automate and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux Systems.

Must be willing to relocate to Charlottesville, VA.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Perform Linux administrative tasks in support of the Insider threat programs, work with Insider threat analysts to ensure exceptional data quality and content, and work to ensure the supported insider threat systems are maintained in a secure stateWrite and troubleshoot Infrastructure as code deployments utilizing TerraformPerform STIG checklists and remediate any defects discoveredPerform analysis of audit data content and format to find defects with the data

  • Utilize various methods to identify and track high value Army digital resources, and work with multiple Army programs in an advisory role to help their development teams better understand and meet the requirements of ICS500-27

  • Document and provide any requirements to the developers for Army Insider threat programs to help modernize and improve the applications, while providing guidance on data specifications and content across the Army

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related experience; additional four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Required Skills:

  • Experience working with Linux server administration

  • Experience working with structured data (JSON/XML)

  • Familiarity with relevant DOD security standards (ICS 500-27 & CNSSI 1253)

  • Ability to develop and brief material in front of groups of 10+ people.

  • Linux or Cloud environment certification(s)

  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code

  • Experience with NIST Risk management framework (RMF)

  • Experience with Security Technical implementation guides (STIG)

Required Certification:

  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT or IAM Level II or higher certification such as Security+, CySA+, CND, CASP, CAP, CISM etc.

Required Clearance:

  • Must have a current active Top Secret Clearance, must be SCI eligible.
