Job Description

BAE is looking for highly motivated people with experience in wireless and RF technologies to include experience operating various pieces of equipment used to detect, analyze and diagnose signal properties. This position requires:

There are several positions open - both Mid and Senior level. The skills listed below are NOT required. We are just giving you the overall environment.

1st job is for a Wireless Detection SME, this job is more about reviewing COTS products and testing them to see what works best for the client for wireless detection capabilities. Should know RF, Bluetooth and Wifi freqs. and the various equipment used for this purpose.

2nd job is for an RF Analyst - Looking at signals to determine if there's a threat or something nefarious about the signal. High usage of systems that demodulate a signal

Here is more information about the overall needs of the jobs

Good working knowledge/experience with various types of RF Systems and be proficient in RF design, diagnostic tools, and understanding of electromagnetic theory. This will include working with various types of antennas, transmitters, receivers, and other RF devices.

RF Technician abilities: assist in the installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of RF systems to include In place Monitoring Systems and Wi-Fi Detection Systems.

Knowledge and experience with implementing solutions to enhance signal quality and coverage. Also have the ability to analyze RF signals within a given environment for strength, weakness, and direction.

Experience with testing and measurement of RF radio frequency systems using specialized equipment to analyze signal strength, interference, and other relevant parameters. Develop and implement test plans for RF systems and components to ensure that RF products meet specified performance criteria.

Experience with the testing and measurement of wireless equipment for detection/analyzing signal strength and other relevant parameters. Develop and implement plans for wireless equipment use to ensure products meet specified performance criteria. This will include the ability to troubleshoot and maintain the wireless detection equipment to ensure the ongoing functionality of the equipment.

Working knowledge of the RF Spectrum / allocation of radio frequency spectrum.

Keeping accurate records of system configurations, test results, and maintenance activities is essential. Creating documentation and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to other team members or management.

Having proven ability to work well in a team environment, and as well, to be a self-starter and work alone when circumstances require it.

Having proven successful soft skills to work with various types of personalities, communicating clearly and effectively (both written and verbal), organization, problem solving, time management, and have a strong work ethic.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Required :

  • Minimum of Five years experience using RF detection and measurement equipment and associated software for RF spectrum analysis: Spectrum analyzers, software definable radios, Wireless Intrusion Detection Systems (WIDS)

  • The ability to identify and differentiate commercial wireless communication signals, i.e., mobile celluar, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, commercial TV/Radio

  • Working knowledge of commonly used modulation schemes such as AM, FM, PSK, QAM, etc.

  • The ability to perform bit-level signal analysis.

  • The ability to write clear and accurate technical reports and non-technical summary reports.

  • Basic and system level troubleshooting skills

  • Basic computer networking skills

  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints.

  • Knowledge of commercially available WIDS platforms and In Place Monitoring system platforms

  • Experience in computer system administration

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $140690 - $239140

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
