BAE Systems O&M Systems Administrator in Sterling, Virginia

Job Description

As a Systems Administrator, you will work closely with remote users to maintain reliable operation of an integrated digital modeling environment. You will provide remote resolution support for TIER 1/2/3 support of Unix/Windows workstations and servers operating in an AWS/AZURE/ORACLE/GOOGLE clouds, AWS Workspaces, AZURE Viirtual Desktop and stored data in support of business processing requirements. You will support a mixed Windows/Linux server environment using Active Directory and PKI based authentication for Windows user workspaces and remote access. Application support includes DOORS Requirements Management, TeamWork Cloud, Cameo Systems Modeler, and Tableau. As a Systems Administrator, you will support the administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks:

  • Perform desktop system management responsibilities involving account maintenance and security

  • Install/load Operating System (OS) and other local area system administration related functions

  • Perform software installations and upgrades to Unix/Windows operating systems and layered software packages and maintain them in accordance with established policies, procedures, licensing, and service level agreements

  • Evaluation and installation of software/hardware patches and resolution of software related problems associated with COTS/GOTS products

  • Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to those systems

  • Provide technical administration and support for specific applications (DOORSNG Requirements Management, TeamWork Cloud, Sharepoint, Project Web Access)

  • Support Tier 2 and 3 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems, as well as escalation and status communications to agency management and internal customers as needed

  • Configure and manage UNIX and/or Windows operating systems

  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage devices and applications

  • Verify system availability with existing Enterprise tools

  • Troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure application components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance

  • Ensure systems are secure to STIG guidelines by utilizing tools such as Nessus and HBSS

  • Maintain operational, configuration, and other standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • DoD 8570 IAT II (or better) Certification (i.e. CompTIA Security )

  • Windows System Administration

  • 8 years overall experience

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Linux System Administration

  • DOORS Requirements Management

  • Enterprise digital modeling tools (Cameo, TeamWork Cloud, Enterprise Archtiecture, etc)

  • Sharepoint and Project Web Access (PWA)

  • AWS Cloud infrastructure and workspaces

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $126610 - $215270

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
