Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Data Science Intern with a strong interest in AI/ML and advanced analytics to join our corporate team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing and applying data science techniques to solve complex business problems. This role will involve hands-on experience in machine learning, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making to help shape our data strategy and drive insights from large, diverse datasets.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of AI/ML models to solve business challenges and enhance decision-making processes

  • Work with large datasets to perform data exploration, preprocessing, and feature engineeringDevelop and test predictive and prescriptive analytics models using supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques

  • Research and apply the latest AI/ML methodologies and tools to improve model performance and accuracy

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, business analysts, and IT, to implement AI-driven solutions

  • Contribute to data visualization and storytelling to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders

  • Assist in the deployment of models into production and monitor model performance

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field

  • GPA of 3.0+ in a 4.0 grade scale

  • Strong interest in AI/ML, data science, and advanced analytics

  • Familiarity with statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques

  • Proficiency in Python or R, with experience using libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch

  • Experience in data wrangling, data visualization, and exploratory data analysis (EDA)

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-based platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure for model training and deployment

  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Iceberg or distributed computing frameworks

  • Experience in developing, fine-tuning, and deploying machine learning models in production environments

  • Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) or computer vision is a plus

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib/Seaborn for storytelling and insights presentation

Security Clearance: Although a clearance is not required at the time of application, the candidate must be willing to be submitted for a clearance and is expected to successfully obtain and maintain one.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
