Raytheon is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to support the CIS business.

In this role, you will work with our human resources team and others across the business to help solve a variety of interesting employment law related challenges. You will advise executive and management level professionals as they navigate difficult employee situations, and you will coordinate closely with the Litigation Team if those situations escalate. Additionally, you will be a key contributor to our employment compliance program, which includes our annual AAPs and other audits. You will interact directly with our Company leadership on strategic projects and contribute to a wide array of employment law matters.

In this role you would provide counsel on a variety of issues including Workers’ compensation, Termination of employment, Sexual harassment, Workplace safety, Wage and overtime standards, Privacy rights, Discrimination against employees based on age, ancestry, color, creed, disability, marital status, medical conditions, national origin, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation and Employee benefits like leaves of absence and retirement plans.

Responsibilities would include:

  • Advising executive and management level professionals as they navigate difficult employee situations, and you will coordinate closely with the Litigation Team if those situations escalate.

  • Act as a key contributor to our employment compliance program, which includes our annual AAPs and other audits.

  • Provide day-to-day advice and counseling to the management and talent acquisition team within the business on a range of employment-law related issues such as performance management and terminations, leaves of absence / accommodations, rescinding of offers and investigating claims, among other areas.

  • Advise and guide OFCCP and pay data reporting obligations in the US, in collaboration with the Compliance, Finance, HR and TA teams.

  • Deliver employment-law related trainings, focused on anti-harassment, anti-discrimination and elimination of bias to hiring managers and all people leaders.

  • Provide support to Human Resources in review and drafting of incentive compensation plans and policies.

  • Supervise and advise on internal investigations in consultation with Hiring Managers and Employee Relations

  • Stay apprised of changes in the law and ensure contracts and policies in multiple jurisdictions are updated accordingly.

  • Drafting and preparing claims, employment contracts or other legal documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with US Federal Contractors and advising on global employment law issues.

  • Resourcefulness and the ability to solve problems, including non-traditional or undefined problems, creatively and analytically.

  • Ability to communicate prioritization and deadlines with internal and external stakeholders, and build constructive, high-trust relationships across teams and functions.

  • Sound judgment and composure in high-pressure situations; display discretion and integrity in all interactions

  • Knowledge of and experience with US employment laws, counseling, and investigations

  • J.D. or other advanced degree

  • Member of Virginia Bar or able to obtain an In-House Counsel Authorization in Virginia

  • Understanding of OFFCP regulations and adherence

  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong ability to form, mentor, and manage efficient teams.

  • Ability to obtain security clearance, existing security clearance preferred.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
