This position is part of our U.S. Stainless Services & Solutions with its corporate office located in Sterling Heights, MI. Aperam Stainless Services & Solutions USA provides precision slit coils and blanks, with a focus on appliance, automotive, electric mobility, food & beverage, stamping, drawing, forming and industrial manufacturing markets.
Summary (About this Position):
The Aperam SS&S USA has an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager located at our Corporate office in Sterling Heights. The successful candidate will possess proven world-class experience in performing supply chain management in purchasing *stainless steel coils *from international mills. As an experienced Supply Chain/Purchaser, you will have detailed understanding in purchasing, standard costing, negotiation, elements of basic contracts, payment terms, logistics, lead times, min/max inventory levels, international shipments, supplier/vendor selection, and work in conjunction with production planning for material availability. This position will be based out of our Sterling Heights, Michigan office; reporting directly to the CEO of the North America Region.
Your Role (key job tasks)
- Responsible in maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and distributors
- Ensure customer satisfaction with timely deliveries
- Negotiate with material vendors on sourcing, pricing, and material availability
- Collaborate with sales and production teams to forecast demand, anticipate customer needs, and develop demand plans
- Analyzing the supply chain data and solving any issues or putting alternative plans in place
- Collaborate with Logistic Broker for international shipments
- Inventory management.
- Monitor and maintain minimal stock levels for program based customers
- Continuously reviewing logistical functions and identifying areas of improvement
- Prepare reports on supply chain performance
- Communicate with stakeholders
- Enforce strict adherence to safety standards
Your Profile (Required background)
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Business related field required
- Previous experience as a supply chain or purchasing manager in a similar industry
- 3-5+ years of stainless steel experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted
- Analytical skills in all Microsoft Office and Google applications
