Role Summary

To manufacture safety critical, quality parts at an established rate following approved processes and training. Managing automated equipment to achieve the targeted OEE performance including minor maintenance activities. All production processes and products manufactured at Magna Powertrain Shelby Township, including but not limited to assembly, inspecting, packing, testing, measuring, maintenance and machine operations.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring that all safety, environmental and quality procedures are followed.

Authorized to stop the process if it does not meet safety and/or quality requirements and notify Leader, Supervisor or Quality personal immediately. Follow Leader / Supervisor instructions after they reviewed the situation.

Understand and follow SWI (Standard Work Instructions) and JES (Job Element Sheets).

Follow all required inspection requirements at the specified frequencies.

Responsible to escalate any Quality, Environmental, Ergonomic, Safety, Equipment or Production concerns to Team Leader, Supervisor and/or utilize Open Door Process.

Follow all applicable processes including but not limited to, control of nonconforming outputs, labeling, and production reporting.

Maintain and improve the cleanliness and organization (5S) of the work area.

Maintain professional and cooperative communication with all other employees. Treat co-workers with dignity and respect and in accordance with the Magna Employee's Charter and Common Values.

Escalate immediately if any concerns arise about performing an assignment safely and correctly producing safety critical products without defects.

Attend and participate in team and employee meetings.

Responsible to follow the Gap plan during down time incidences.

Participate in Operator facilitated maintenance activities to support the TPM approach.

Escalate down time reasons to drive continuous improvements to improve OEE.

Report any visible wear and tear of visible malfunctioning of autonomous equipment immediately.  All near miss incidents involving autonomous equipment must be reported immediately.

Accurately report production of all required data and follow escalation process.

Participate in cross functional team meetings to review problems and develop solutions.

Train co-workers on all job duties including, machine operations, visual inspection, and packing of product.

Report any injuries, accidents, property damage, near miss parts spill incidents etc. to Supervisor or Team Leader and complete Employee Incident Report as required.

Report equipment malfunctions and mishits and complete required forms.

Support and participate in division and department improvement initiatives through Continuous Improvement Suggestion Program, and sharing of knowledge, ideas, and/or best practices with co-workers.
