Job Description

The Executive Director of Tarleton’s Event Center, provides leadership for meetings, events, training sessions, conferences, and special events. This position is responsible for planning, and organizing assigned events including responsibilities such as logistical requirements of events, event documents, and conduct meetings with clients, service providers and operating departments. Provides oversight of business activities, program administration, and strategic planning and development. Position is located in Stephenville, Texas with work hours of Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. This position does require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends as required by business needs. Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops program plans, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures and ensures objectives are met.

  • Develops, directs, and evaluates process compliance and internal controls.

  • Directs and oversees event related services, including reservations, scheduling, planning, billing, and post-event evaluations.

  • Serves as primary contact for booking high-end talent and coordinating all major events held in the Event Center.

  • Leads the development and oversight of communications, promotions, and public relations for the Event Center.

  • Facilitates requests for set-ups and break-downs of events and ensures that expectations are met in accordance with the users’ needs/requests.

  • Promotes events, including liaising with promoters and negotiating artist contracts.

  • Oversees planning and implementing of marketing resources to promote season, individual, and group ticket sales.

  • Stays abreast of developments in the field.

  • Supervises staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling.

  • Serves as a liaison and coordinates working relationships with external resources and university faculty/staff members.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ten years of related experience.

Salary:

Commensurate with experience

The target base annual salary is commensurate with experience and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
