SAFETY SUPERVISOR

We are excited to invite a passionate and experienced Safety Supervisor to join our team! Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for an experienced Safety Supervisor for our City Sanctuary Facility for Families w/ Children in Staten Island, NY. As the Safety Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, overseeing the performance of our dedicated Safety Aides in ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment, where our team can excel and provide the best safety to our families. ABOUT HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS, INC.

Homes for the Homeless, Inc. (HFH) is a non-profit social services organization operating family shelters throughout NYC that serve as a hub of opportunity for families both residing in shelter as well as those in the neighboring community. On-site programs range from childcare, early childhood education centers, afterschool clubs and programs, and youth recreation activities, such as sports teams, to housing assistance, case management, parenting workshops, career and job vocational training, support groups and substance abuse assistance, and family engagement and recreation events. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise Safety Aide staff providing direction and instruction to staff on routine security tasks for assigned shift.

  • Maintain camera surveillance of the interior and exterior of the facility.

  • Enforce facility rules and regulations.

  • Review and document incidents.

  • Maintain all critical files.

  • Train new staff.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • A minimum of 1-2 years supervisor experience, a plus.

  • Current 8-hour certificate.

  • Valid NYS Security License.

  • Fire Guard (F-02), a plus.

  • Certificate of Fitness (F-80), a plus.

  • F-02 – F-80 certifications must be obtained within 2 months of employment.

  • Fluency in languages other than English, particularly Spanish strongly preferred.
