Glenn O Hawbaker, Inc. Driver - Flatbed/Sweep Truck in STATE COLLEGE, Pennsylvania

Job Summary: 

Responsible for the safe, efficient, economical movement of small equipment from one location to another within the GOH work area. Operate sweep truck in and around job sites in a safe manner. Transport water to and from jobsites as needed. This hourly, non-exempt position will work with direct and indirect supervision.

Essential Functions:

*  Operate and move small equipment from one location to another throughout the GOH work area.

*Load, unload, block and secure equipment on truck or trailer to eliminate the possibility of damage and ensure safe transport of equipment.

  • Operate fuel tanks when applicable.

  • Check all machines for any major leaks or defects, GET wear, etc. Document and communicate on required paperwork to appropriate maintenance facility all problems needing attention and/or repair.

  • Understand and follow applicable state and federal guidelines regarding vehicle weights, permits, and hours of service.

  • Maintain accurate records of equipment moved.

  • Maintain clean and orderly yard area.

  • Assist Equipment Dispatcher as needed.

  • Proactively communicate with Equipment Manager, Equipment Dispatcher and Leader concerning equipment and job-related problems.

*Operate sweep truck in and around jobsites

*Operate and haul water to/from jobsites

  • Perform daily maintenance on the sweep truck

  • Perform manual labor as needed.

  • Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.

  • Frequently work more than 40 hours per week and non-traditional hours including niht shift, Saturdays and occasionally Sundays.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge of:

  • Heavy trucks and heavy construction equipment operation.

  • Mechanical concepts.

Ability to:

  • Learn and follow GOH Company policies and procedures.

  • Properly and neatly complete required GOH paperwork and logbook.

  • Safely operate a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid CDL B Tank Endorsement

  • Must meet company minimum standards for drivers.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a current Medical Examiner's Certificate as stated in 49 CFR 391.43(h).

Education:

  • Prefer high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Three years of commercial driving experience required.

  • Tow motor/ lift truck

  • Air Brakes
