From womb to tomb, Lakewood Health System provides compassionate, quality care for the Brainerd Lakes region and beyond. About the Unit/Department/Team We are growing the EMS team here at Lakewood. We currently serve multiple communities in central MN with 911 response as well as ALS transports. We staff our team with EMTs and Paramedics providing care up to the level of critical care during transports. Our annual volume is over 1200 requests per year. We collaborate with multiple teams inside and outside Lakewood. We received a new ambulance in 2023 and appreciate the system support of growth and innovation Mission for Position To support and grow the EMS team to provide personalized, quality care to each patient, every time. Duties & Responsibilities OR Position Summary Paramedic Responsibilities Pull regular shifts fulfilling the basic duties of a Paramedic. Maintain professional patient and system confidentiality Assume and delegate tasks to assure the 911 call/transfers are covered. Perform chart review to ensure quality care delivered and information in place for coding and billing Supervisory Responsibilities Participate in the hiring and onboarding process to further Lakewood\'s mission of providing quality healthcare for a lifetime. Provide direct supervision of staff including initial coaching, feedback, annual reviews and check-ins with each staff Lead monthly EMS meetings to promote positive culture, align team goals, and maintain positive working relationships. Collaborate with scheduler to ensure shifts are covered, time card accuracy, fiscal responsibility. Education, Licensure & Professional Development Responsibilities Coordinate and execute ambulance license renewal and inspections Collaborate with education to ensure all team members receive required education to maintain certification Support other entities/first responder groups that we provide medical direction for by providing annual education and refreshers Actively participate in LHS, regional and state EMS, stroke, and trauma meetings Coordinate and execute mock drills with code blue, trauma, emergency preparedness team Coordinate and support public education events Function as part of the EMS Leadership Team Meet with Director of Emergency Services & Medical Director regularly to address operational and quality issues with data-driven solutions, as well as review policies and protocols to prioritize quality patient care. Participate in meetings with fiscal team and Director of Emergency Services to review budget and department needs monthly Provide support to other Emergency Services teams (ED and Admitting) Position Type This position will include shifts on the truck as well as dedicated supervisory time. Qualifications Qualifications Current Minnesota and Nationally Registered Paramedic certification Experience in collaboration in high stress situations Drivers\' license and a good driving record. Current CPR. Current ALS.
