JOB PURPOSE:

The Assistant Manager, Recruiting is essential to the daily operations and overall success of The Office of Career Services (OCS) at Stanford Law School. OCS serves as a bridge between students, alumni and employers. OCS staff members help students and alumni shape and realize their career goals. This position requires the ability to shift between daily tasks, ad hoc projects, and programs - primarily, though not limited to, the two on-campus interviewing programs each year. In this role you will represent OCS as a key contact with employers on student recruiting matters and manage job posting opportunities for our students. This role requires management skills, a customer-service oriented disposition, a high level of organization, and a helpful collaborative attitude. This position reports to the Director of Recruiting and partners with the entire OCS department.

CORE DUTIES*:

● Oversee, review and administer website content for the OCS office. This includes reviewing legal employment statistics and designing and translating this to online information that students can understand and access. Provide recommendations that require interpretation and influence decisions.Independently implement, administer and evaluate department’s online and social media content. Lead development of new website content and protocols for maintaining and updating pages. Aligns with the Communications Department to ensure that OCS pages comply with SLS guidelines.

● With collaboration from OCS advisors, identify trends and market conditions impacting employment opportunities for SLS students. Develop recommendations, and lead development of protocols for statistics projects and online student feedback surveys, collecting and analyzing data from multiple sources under minimal supervision. Strategize about ways to enhance OCS offerings to students.

● Collect and analyze data from multiple sources including student feedback surveys, trend reports, and data analytics. Prepare and summarize reports and make recommendations to enhance offerings, such as programs and courses and to influence current processes and policies.

● Apprise students and alumni of employment opportunities by independently managing the SLS jobs Database. Advise employers on OCS policies anddeterminewhen policies or procedures need to be revised.Advise manager and team on policy updates and providerecommendationsfor implementation of changes.

● Serve as the primary information resource to other departments. Field and resolve high volume of inquiries and requests from students, alumni and employers.

● Collect and analyze data and create reports in order to explain hiring and use trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the education and service goals of OCS.

● Key staff member in development of marketing materials and strategies, and the planning and development of programming activities. Assume a pivotal rolein the registration process and employer outreach for two annual recruitment programscoordinatingon-campus interviews for law students.

● Collaborate with other OCS staff to assess and resolve complex issues, analyze and interpret policies, and develop, revise and implement recruiting procedures.

● Administer all financial processes. Process all payments, pay all invoices and contract renewals, and handle reimbursements, and resolve all issues related to this process.

● Train, orient and supervise student and temporary workers on processes and policies within the office.

● Other duties may also be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

● Strong written and verbal communication skills.

● Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of InDesign, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Photoshop, Power Point, and database systems strongly desired.)

● BasicAnalysis and problem-solving skills.

● Customer service skills.

● Relevant computer systems/technology experience.

● Understanding of financial transactions.

● Ability to learn and understand compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.

● Demonstrated ability to prioritize own work and multi-task.

● Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

● Frequently sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.

● Occasionally stand, walk, twist, use fine manipulation, grasp, use a telephone, write by hand, sort and file paperwork, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

The expected pay range for this position is $67,000 to $85,000 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
