  • The site is refreshed daily to remove out-of-date content.
  • The newest jobs are listed first, so use the search features to match your interests. You can look for jobs in a specific geographical location, by title or keyword, or you can use the military crosswalk. You may want to do something different from your military career, but you undoubtedly have skills from that occupation that match to a civilian job.

Stanford University Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Non-Tenure Line (Research), Department of Surgery in Stanford, California

The Division of General Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Stanford University seeks qualified candidates to fill two positions to further expand our translational research program and join the Department of Surgery/Division of General Surgery as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in the Non-Tenure Line (Research). We are particularly interested in candidates who have established research focused on intraoperative molecular imaging, immuno-oncology/immunotherapy or more broadly translational cancer biology, sepsis and inflammation, and stem cell and regenerative medicine.

  • The major criterion for appointment for faculty in the Non-tenure Line (Research) is evidence of high-level performance as a researcher for whose special knowledge a programmatic need exists.

Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The successful applicant should have a record or interest in cross-disciplinary collaborative translational research, have completed postdoctoral training with a PhD, MD PhD, or MD degree, and possess a substantial record of scholarly activity with current extramural funding or high likelihood of securing extramural funding.

We expect the successful candidate to demonstrate research distinction. The strongest candidates will be scientists or clinician-scientists who demonstrate a track record of, or commitment to, a career incorporating scholarly activity. Evidence of success or potential for success with external peer review and funding is strongly desired.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

The Department of Surgery, School of Medicine, and Stanford University value faculty who will help foster an inclusive academic environment for colleagues, students, and staff with a wide range of backgrounds, identities, and outlooks.
