Guardian Life Corporate Learning & Development Instructional Designer in Stamford, Connecticut

Do you enjoy collaborating with a team to define and propose a curriculum strategy? If so, the Financial Representative (FR) Learning & Development Team is seeking an instructional designer who will support our efforts to execute and deliver on the overall field training strategy.

You have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience

  • 3 plus years of experience in designing and developing learning content for virtual and in person training.

  • Experience of working and/or an understanding of the financial services industry preferred.

  • Proficiency in eLearning tools such as Camtasia, Articulate Storyline 360, Articulate Rise, and graphic design tools like Photoshop. Familiarity with virtual collaboration tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher).

  • Solid understanding of and ability to apply instructional design theories, practices, and methodologies.

  • Expertise developing and analyzing success metrics to evaluate training efficiency and impact.

  • Knowledge of mobile learning design and development best practices.

  • Skill in working within a Learning Management System to craft content & drive implementation.

  • Capacity to run multiple projects at a time and a curiosity to engage in a variety of projects as opportunity arises.

  • Ability to analyze and understand data and make informed conclusions.

  • An ability to establish relationships with key partners and engage them collaboratively to accomplish objectives.

You will:

  • Build positive relationships with key stakeholders across the business to understand their unique challenges and tailor learning solutions accordingly.

  • Conduct assessments to systematically identify training and development needs.

  • Develop comprehensive training strategies that efficiently and effectively address learning and development needs.

  • Construct and manage detailed project plans, engaging key stakeholders, establishing review milestones, and integrating change and implementation strategies to achieve project goals.

  • Design detailed course materials, including course outlines, facilitator guides, and job aids, which improve the learning experience and support instructional goals.

  • Develop digital instructional materials such as videos, interactive simulations, and quizzes using tools like Camtasia and Articulate Storyline 360, for both instructor-led and self-paced eLearning environments.

  • Facilitate the review and approval process of training documentation and e-learning content to ensure alignment with learning objectives and stakeholder expectations.

  • Stay updated with the latest trends in eLearning technology and instructional design to implement.

Location:

  • Hybrid role - 2 days in office, 3 days WFH. Can be located at any Guardian office located Bethlehem, PA; Holmdel, NJ; Stamford CT; or Hudson Yards, NYC.

  • Travel – 0-10%

Salary Range

$66,130.00 - $108,640.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
