VMware Solution Lead, VMware App Navigator - Portfolio (EMEA) - Opportunity for Working Remotely in Staines, United Kingdom
Solution Lead, VMware App Navigator
Cloud transformation is accelerating as organizations everywhere aggressively move toward public and hybrid cloud, edge and 5G technologies to compete and win in the digital age. Of course, change is hard and careful planning is necessary. But, too often that planning is slow, analysis is fraught with assumptions and (let’s face it) often ends up being wrong.
VMware App Navigator is a service offering created in the belief that when change is hard, iteration is best. We deliver using specialized techniques and tooling that help our consultants, working alongside customers, enable tangible results in days and weeks, not months and years. VMware is doubling down on this approach and growing our team of solution and program architects. We are looking for collaborative people with a passion for customer enablement and outcomes to lead short and impactful Navigator engagements that focus across a broad spectrum of cloud application and platform technologies.
You are a passionate thought leader who is frequently sought after for guidance by novice and experienced practitioners. You are an inventor who is constantly trying to improve, rethink and mature ways of working that help people be more successful. You love working with people one on one, with managers and with clients in ways that support them in their own continuous improvement. Not just a craftsperson, you are business minded and happy to work with existing and prospective customers, to help shape solutions and articulate novel approaches to help them achieve exceptional results using modern practices. You’re agile and retrospective, and not afraid to identify what we’re doing wrong so we can fix it, and what we're doing right so we can improve on it. Above all, you judge your success by the success of your team and the happiness of our customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Solution Lead, you are the known domain thought leader for Portfolio-focused Navigator delivery within an aligned sector or geography. You spend half of your time with sales and prospective customers - enabling VMware teams, speaking at internal / external events, pitching prospective customers, and proposing tailored solutions. The remainder of your time is spent working post-sales with customers (in an advisory capacity), building software tools, inventing delivery methods, and coaching/mentoring the team on emerging practices. You must be able to respond quickly to unanticipated events while effectively managing existing workload. The position is highly collaborative and you must be comfortable working in a distributed, matrixed organizational environment.
During the COVID-19 crisis, this role will be 100% remote, with the expectation that face-to-face engagement in a VMware or customer office will be required once the crisis is resolved. At this future date, you may be asked to travel up to 50% of the time.
