Warehouse Shipping/Receiving Specialist I in Stafford, VA.

The Warehouse Shipping/Receiving Specialist’s primary function is to perform a full range of warehousing activities to include receiving, inspecting, inventorying, loading, unloading, shipping, segregating, storing, issuing, delivering, and processing turned-in supplies and equipment, and is capable of performing applicable research and cataloging.

Performance shall include:

  • Assist in the development of plans for storage and arrangement of stock to determine warehouse configuration, setup, movement, rearrangement, and traffic flow.

  • Prepare items for processing which include operating a computer terminal and barcode reader.

  • Ensure accountability when receiving, storing, and issuing. They also ensure that special documentation remains with materials throughout the storage and issue process (i.e., Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), Controlled Cryptographic Item (CCI) certificate, and any other applicable documentation).

  • Perform quality assurance inspections of materials in storage.

  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments and placement of materials within the warehouse shipping and receiving area and ensures safe receipt, storage, and movement of sensitive items and hazardous material products in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.

Required Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license to operate vehicles in the state in which they are employed. Able to perform temporary duty at other locations for specified periods of time.

  • A High School Diploma and 4 years of experience or an Associates and 2 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a Degree.

  • A candidate holding a relevant Master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education. A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit for that extra education.

Desired Education and Experience:

  • 1-2 years of position-specific relevant experience.

Security Clearance:

  • Current Secret Clearance is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.

  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
