ManTech Maritime Technical Project Manager (Robotics) in Stafford, Virginia

ManTech is seeking a Maritime Technical Project Manager (Robotics) to support the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory, Science & Technology Division.

This individual will support the Robotics and Autonomy Branch with a wide variety of tasks, including continuous research, documentation, and managing developmental projects related to robotic autonomous systems. Qualified candidates must be proficient in Unmanned Systems (UxS) theory, basic autonomous functionality, principles of robotic autonomy, real-time operating systems, guidance and sensor kit integration, human machine teaming, and computer interface with robotic systems.

This role requires an active DoD SECRET clearance.

General Responsibilities:

  • Compile data related to maritime robotics from government, industry, and academia.

  • Guide planning of programs from inception to completion involving schedule, budget, resources, and processes.

  • Ensure program execution and activities adhere to contractual requirements and internal USMC/DOD policies.

  • Set, communicate, and track goals for the program according to strategic objectives.

  • Lead/facilitate technical meetings, working groups, reviews, and briefings, including developing reports, presentations, and associated documentation and providing post-meeting summaries/meeting minutes.

  • Provide USMC leadership with timely assessments of program performance and early identification of (and intervention in) program-level issues and risks that are impacting (or may impact) performance.

  • Participate in technology demonstrations and formal testing events in both laboratory and field environments.

Minimum Requirements:

  • US Citizen

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Robotics, Marine Science, or a related field or be able to demonstrate equivalent work-related experience in these areas.

  • Active clearance, minimum Secret

  • At least 5 years of experience in maritime robotics, specifically with USVs and UUVs

  • Proficiency in managing technical projects in the areas of robotics engineering, C2, autonomy, and sensing

  • Understand maritime laws and regulations affecting maritime robotics operations

  • Experience managing developmental projects and responsibilities with contractors for cost, schedule, and performance

  • Excellent and proven ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively with customer/sponsor stakeholders and senior/executive leadership in government and industry.

  • Outstanding organizational skills, team-oriented mindset, and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, diverse, and virtual team environment.

Strongly Desired:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

  • 10+ years of experience in maritime robotics or related fields

  • Experience with advanced autonomy algorithms and artificial intelligence for maritime systems

  • Experience within the acquisition framework, particularly focused on S&T/RDT&E work for the development of new maritime robotic systems

  • Experience fielding experimental equipment for operational forces.

  • Experience with project management tools
