SUMMARY

Responsible for working with all enterprise disciplines, including but not limited to engineering,

manufacturing, quality, field service, marketing, and human resources to support activities in all business

units (IDIQ, Commercial, Military, and Space) by developing, composing, editing, and maintaining

technical publications, documents, procedures, forms, and test plans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Organize and develop required technical and business material per corporate and/or customer standards

with respect to order, style, terminology, and sequencing.

Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedures,

technical manuals, technical orders, and process documentation.

Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing documents.

Work closely with other tech writers, engineers, program managers, checkers, and Document Control to

understand product requirements

Adhere to cataloguing system for engineering library/Document Control, and maintain records/library of

work and revisions in coordination with Document Control principals and activities.

Consult and recommend use of layouts, graphics, drawings, tables, exhibits and illustrations for marketing

literature, company website and company newsletter.

Periodically audit and review publications to determine whether format or content changes/updates are

required. Make changes as required.

Assist in preparing material for technical seminars, business forums and customer bids/proposals.

Remain current on new developments in technical writing, editing, and publishing including technology

enhancements which may affect the corporation.

Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work

environment.

Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization

(AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES

Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.

Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.

Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.

Participate in Atec Continuous Improvement activities as appropriate (including Strategic Planning, AIM,

Suggestion box, etc.).

Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.

Cooperate with Auditors.

Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Engineering, technical field, creative writing, or related degree; or

1-4 years related experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience. Competency in

word processing, spreadsheets, database management and graphic production software.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Member of the Society for Technical Communication (STC) encouraged.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Employee is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, stand, and sit.
