Atec, Inc. Support Engineer II in Stafford, Texas

SUMMARY

Research electrical, electronic, and mechanical design and obsolescence problems of existing company

products and build-to-print jobs. Assist Atec Companies with field installation efforts and ongoing field

maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Sustain existing electrical and mechanical designs of equipment, facilities, components, products, and

systems as required to support company goals.

Review and modify existing drawings and or indented Bills of Material BOM(s) to reflect design updates

from engineering.

Effectively utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to create purchase requisitions & order

parts and track progress of production parts.

Determine methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products to verify operability and functionality.

Travel to assist Atec companies field installation and preventative maintenance schedules.

Properly prepare and ship Atec products for domestic and or international travel.

Maintain customer relationships during ongoing installation efforts.

Must possess the ability to follow written and oral instructions and to accept constructive criticism.

Perform other related duties as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work

environment.

Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization

(AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES

Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.

Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.

Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.

Participate in Atec Continuous Improvement activities as appropriate.

Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.

Cooperate with Auditors.

Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Four-year Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering Technology degree (BSEET) or mechanical

(BSMEET) preferred; or four (4) to eight (8) years' experience with applicable Engineering Applications;

or a combination of education and experience.

Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Computer Assisted Drawing (CAD) or Auto CAD LITE.

Experience and familiarity with MIL-SPECS and DOD-STD-100 a plus.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Texas driver's license required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit., use hands to handle equipment, reach with hands and

arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Employee is required to frequently use mechanical and electric tools such as saws, grinders, and wrenches.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, and occasionally to high precarious places

and outside weather conditions.

Noise level varies depending on where employee is performing the job.

Extended work hours and/or travel may occasionally be required.
