Atec, Inc. Space Systems Engineer II in Stafford, Texas

The Space Systems Engineering team is positioned within the larger Atec Engineering organization. As one

of its members, you will help drive the fabrication, production, assembly, test, design and analysis

processes of spaceflight hardware. This position requires someone with a systems level mindset who can

navigate between fine details and the big picture with a breadth of manufacturing knowledge. It also

requires working with a number of internal and external stakeholders, including production, quality,

operations, technicians, and suppliers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Support manufacturing, assembly & test of Space Systems components.

Review customer statement of work (SOW) documents, purchase orders, specifications, and manuals to

ensure all requirements are met or exceeded.

Work with production and manufacturing departments to ensure all deliverable items meet customer

schedules.

Work with the quality department to ensure all deliverable items meet customer requirements.

Work with the purchasing department to ensure all required purchased components are delivered on time to

support customer requirements.

Work with Space Systems technicians to ensure deliverable items are assembled & tested in accordance

with all requirements.

Design and assist in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and development of methods and

procedures for testing products or systems. Actively participate in product testing.

Assist in developing quotes and technical proposals.

Stay current on engineering software capabilities and techniques, as well as physical testing methods.

Work to stay within project budgets and schedules.

Evaluate engineering, manufacturing, and business processes, making suggestions as appropriate to make

improvements.

Identify new aerospace materials, coatings, and manufacturing technologies to implement them into new

product designs and processes.

Attend aerospace conferences and symposiums relevant to Atec's business activities.

Participate in supplier quality site visits.

Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work

environment.

Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization

(AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES

Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.

Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.

Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.

Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.

Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.

Cooperate with Auditors.

Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university.

Degree in Aerospace related engineering discipline preferred.

Five (5) or more years of experience in a similar or related role.

Experience using 3-D Solid Modeling software (SolidWorks or NX), spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office

products.
