Description:

Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Mental Health Worker to join our team of mission-driven healthcare professionals located on our Behavioral Health Unit located at Johnson Memorial Hospital l in Stafford Springs CT .

The Mental Health Worker / Behavioral Health Tech is key role to keep patients engaged in recovery oriented activities, help to communicate patient’s needs to the clinical team, to monitor patient safety and to work with the nursing professionals to create a healing environments for patients.

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Performs patient observations and other patient care activities.

  • Observes patient behavior.

  • Performs, reports, and documents vital signs, ADLs.

  • Responds rapidly to emergency call lights and performs safety checks.

  • Provides group and individual interventions to assist the psychiatric patient towards recovery and rehabilitation.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent with related experience required. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred

  • Certification: AHA CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers

  • Experience: Possesses a broad practical understanding of life experiences and the ability to relate to emotionally ill individuals.

  • Prior experience in psychiatric setting a plus.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks. Maintain confidentiality. Good problem-solving skills.
