Job Description Summary

An excellent opportunity has opened with us for an Industrialisation Engineer where you will support the current and future introductions for manufacturing of HVDC Products ensuring continued improvements are developed and implemented.

You will be responsible for overseeing the production of new products and ensuring high quality standards are met. This position requires a technical and operational understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to coordinate across production-related functions.

It is essential that will also have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to develop creative solutions for implementing, driving, and delivering the manufacturing production systems both for new product introduction and legacy production lines. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills to ensure successful delivery of projects, which will also bring its own rewards and recognition long-term impact to the company.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • New Product manufacturing Development as well as New Product and Change implementation.

  • Changes to developed processes (i.e. variant changes to sub assembly lines, DW3 universal spare, etc.)

  • Detail and co-ordinate the requirements capture to enable the timely procurement of production line and material handling equipment to facilitate manufacturing.

  • Work in a team environment to solve issues to keep NPI & CI goals and milestones. Which includes coordinating/Participate to cross functional working groups to facilitate Design for Manufacture, PFMEA, PIP, etc.

  • Define and develop Manufacturing build strategy (with support of engineering teams.). In regards to Manufacturing Equipment you will be responsible for Strategy Development, Planning, Capacity, Specification, Design, Purchase, Install, Commission, etc.

  • Work directly with and manage suppliers to develop solutions.

  • Manufacturing and business systems initial setup and support; QMS, LMS, Manufacturing equipment software, etc.

  • Documentation creation and sign-off; Work instructions, Risk Assessments, Management of Change, and Operator Training.

  • Continuous Improvement strategy of Manufacturing Processes incl. VSM, Lean, etc.

  • NPI Supplier onboarding and processing, i.e. Complyworks, SPT orders, etc.

  • Provide day to day Support to manufacturing during production project builds.

Skills and Experience Preferred:

  • EHS compliance and safe working practices.

  • HNC/HND or Engineering Degree or equivalent in a related discipline.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with assembly and test knowledge.

  • Background in Automated assembly and test equipment.

  • Ability to deliver results, address and resolve technical issues.

  • Interaction with others and good at sharing knowledge.

  • Previous experience within manufacturing supporting and implementing production and test equipment.

Additional skills beneficial but not critical

  • Advanced manufacturing Methods and subsequent implementation, LEAN

  • Knowledge of HVDC product testing would be advantageous.

  • Knowledge of business principles, strategy and subsequent interface across all functions.

  • SAP Experience, but full training will be provided.

  • Problem-solving and root cause identification skills.

  • Able to work to deadlines with good quality.

  • Proficient in the English language, written and verbal. Other languages are an advantage.

  • Fully conversant with ISO 9001: 2000 and ISO 14001 and preferably 18001.

  • New Product Implementation (Process & Execution).

  • Experienced in SAP and Lean Manufacturing.
