GENERAL SUMMARY

As part of EMEA Commercial Organisation, Vice President, GM – EMEA will provide leadership and vision to drive the region’s business by creating and executing the brand’s strategies in digital, retail and wholesale distribution channels. The Vice President will be a collaborative leader who drives revenue growth and operating contribution while managing assets. This position will lead business development and strategic direction as well as provide dynamic, visible, and inspirational leadership to positively impact business initiatives.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Active member of EMEA Senior Leadership team and Timberland Global Leadership Team

  • Responsible for the overall digital, retail, wholesale distribution for Timberland's EMEA business, including full P&L responsibility,

  • Lead the team to grow the region by delivering budgeted revenue by channel,

  • Set high expectations and create an environment that maximizes results, achieves strategic and financial plans, and motivates people to succeed,

  • Collaborate with brand leadership on the global 3-year and seasonal strategy,

  • Implement regionally relevant innovation and product concepts into the territory teams and global product engine,

  • Direct the development and execution of strategy that maximizes the performance of all functional areas within the EMEA region, i.e., merchandising, inventory management, store and wholesale management, operations, finance, marketing,

  • Hire, develop and motivate a talented team while building a strong bench for critical roles,

  • Develop effective working relationships with senior level management at major customers, including national retailers and department stores,

  • Establish and uphold the brand's distribution segmentation strategy for sustainable brand growth,

  • Develop key relationships with the cross-functional and cross-regional leaders, and other leadership stakeholders,

  • Provide direction on consumer needs for the EMEA region through the product creation and development process,

  • Collaborate with senior management and enterprise leaders in finance, legal, digital technology and human resources to develop strategy and long-range business plans,

  • Anticipate needs or events and their implications on the business; provide vision, direction, focus and motivation; scan the environment, gather and share information needed to solve problems and make informed decisions in a deliberate manner,

  • Through actions and example, ensure that Timberland values (including sustainability) are fully incorporated into business strategies and consumer messaging, upholding the values of the company in all business interactions and acting as a visible leader in promoting corporate social responsibility initiatives.

  • Exhibit strong people, communication, negotiation and influencing skills to work effectively in a team oriented, matrixed, multi-cultural and multiple stakeholder environment,

  • Have the ability to manage upwards and sideways in a mature and timely fashion, paying attention to detail and follow-through,

  • Lead with a confident, upbeat and winning personality and be able to demonstrate superior leadership, mentoring and coaching skills,

  • Be an effective listener who is open to new ideas and doesn't feel the need to "reinvent the wheel",

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • University Degree, Bachelor, or Master level in Finance, Business Management,

  • From 7 to 10 years of managerial experience in apparel or other general management experience,

  • Proven track record of effective qualitative and quantitative judgment and commercial decision making,

  • Leadership: experience in strategic planning and executions. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating and change management,

  • Language skills: Professional written, vernal communication and interpersonal skills,

  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
