Summary: Setup and operate stamping tooling, presses, and support equipment to company’s quality and performance standards while maintaining high levels of safety and workplace organization as it applies to this position.

Job Description:

  • Setup and operate general tool room equipment

  • Operate all gauging and inspection equipment and perform first piece parts runs and inspections

  • Perform geometric shop calculations

  • Performs development work, difficult tool room operations, skilled fitting, timing, and adjusting

  • Rework tooling components worn or not meeting specifications to develop piece parts to blueprint specifications

  • Use tool conditioning and debut skills to setup and operate assembly machines and related equipment

  • Diagnoses and condition tooling problems in complicated dies and tools

  • Review, assemble, and develop assembly processes that meet tool room standards

  • Perform required divisional tooling qualifications

  • Plans construction processes and methods and selects materials to be used based upon applications

  • Maintain and identify die tooling components such as punches, holders, cradles, electronic safeties, pins lubricants that are necessary to fabricate new tooling

  • Complete all required paperwork, data entry, and records such as updating and recording all tooling modifications on die drawings, daily work tickets and hour logs

Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in tool and die or Tool Maker State Certification

  • Manufacturing and production experience in the connector industry proficient using manual grinders for high-speed and carbide grinding with set up using jigs and fixtures

  • Debug and troubleshoot high speed precision dies and stamping equipment

  • Capable of set up and working with auto-reelers and de-reelers
