The GFY Utilities team is seeking a Project Manager interested in being part of an influential work environment. This position will primarily involve personnel management and evaluation, survey project management, observation, and mapping projects. This role will provide guidance and feedback to assist in employee development and achievement of organizational objectives. This position will work alongside experts in all survey disciplines where mentorship plays a vital role in professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and presents proposals, including scopes and budget, and contract language.

  • Prepares and monitors project budgets with overall responsibility for the profitability of their projects.

  • Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.

  • Serves as a project manager and as the designated client contact.

  • Supervises and monitors client relationship strategies.

  • Responsible for understanding and providing recommendations for acceptance or denial of Client contract language.

  • Coordinates pricing, estimating, and scoping for proposed projects.

  • Prepares forecast of workload for assigned staff.

  • Attends client meetings.

  • Responsible for control of work-in-process. Ensure accurate client billing, monitoring, and reporting outstanding accounts receivable and collection efforts on their projects.

  • Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, aerial photographs, and other topographical and geologic data to plan projects.

  • Provides, directs, and oversees appropriate QA/QC efforts on all projects and is responsible for final product delivery of the product to the clients.

  • Directs and supervises both office and field personnel as appropriate.

  • Handles contract administration.

  • Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, and schedules for the project.

  • Visits project site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.

  • Responsible for project manager and project team quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual.

  • Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Processes field data and writes project reports.

  • Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and financial functions.

  • Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 60 pounds.

Experience and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced Utilities Project Manager. Qualifications and abilities shall include the following:

  • Registered as a Professional Surveyor and Mapper or Licensed Surveyor in Training in the State of Florida, in accordance with Chapter 472, Florida Statute

  • Minimum 4 years of utility-related experience

  • Valid driver's license
