Description Sr. Infrastructure Engineer Contract through 6/4/21 St. Paul, MN Work with an engineering team which owns the CI/CD Delivery pipeline tools to execute the monthly planning and upgrades of CI/CD toolset and other application development tooling in response to vendor releases and security vulnerability identification. This role will include: The review of monthly vulnerabilities associated with our delivery pipeline tooling (see below for list of primary tools) and their operating systems. The coordination of planning of what tools need to be patched and communication to all impacted teams which includes all Application Development teams and other technology teams that leverage the pipeline Execute the actual patching of tools and troubleshooting issues that arise as part of patching Coordinating with the desktop software team, to update the application development software (IDEs etc) that is installed on Application Developers desktops Knowledge and skills required: Proficiency with Linux based OS and packages The CI/CD pipeline tools run on Linux based operating systems including RHEL, CentOS and Debian Patching includes the patching of the OS channels cut for us by the server infrastructure teams Knowledge of Linux tools such as rpm, yum or apt Knowledge of various utilities such as: cron, curl/wget that would be used for patching Infrastructure engineering and usage experience with various CI/CD pipeline tools. This includes: Proven experience with installing, configuring, and using a number of these specific tools or similar tooling of the same category (e.g. if they know Ansible for this role, they can easily pick up Puppet on the job) Tooling includes: GitHub Enterprise Cloudbees Jenkins Enterprise/CI Puppet Artifactory SonarQube Solid organizational and communication capabilities Will be communicating the monthly plans, the actual changes and other relevant details to our user base This person will be coordinating the planning within the team and across other impacted teams such as other infrastructure teams and Application Development Will need to work within ITSM change management program Have solid organizational skills to coordinate multiple tasks and responsibilities for the entire patching process The following are Nice to have skills for the update to application development desktop software (IDEs, application frameworks etc.) Shell/bash/Powershell Java/NodeJS Eclipse SetupBuilder AWS We are in the process of moving Jenkins from on-prem to AWS and so experience with AWS would be a plus EEO Employer Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
