Criteria Based Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse Reports to: Nurse Manager Job Code: 3610, 3611, 3612 Approved by: Vice President Patient Care Services Department: Inpatient Nursing Approval Date: September 2020; Update September 2022 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: 3610 Completion of an associate degree program in nursing Internal new graduates may have a minimum of an associate degree program in nursing. 3611 Completion of a baccalaureate program in nursing External new graduates must have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in nursing. 3612 Master's degree in nursing Experience: External applicants with associate degree in nursing must have 1 year (2080 hours) experience as a registered nurse. For RNs working in a per diem/casual on-call status: Must have at least 1 year (2080 hours) of experience in an acute care setting OR internal RNs must successfully complete their probationary period AND must have at least 1 year (2080 hours) of experience in an acute care setting. See addendum for department specific requirements Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota. Demonstrates at the time of employment and every two years thereafter, competency Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers.
