Are you passionate about creating conditions for an inclusive and engaged workforce? We are seeking an Inclusion and Workforce Development Coordinator to lead and engage teams in diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion (DEAI) strategic planning and programming, workforce development strategies, and elevate staff engagement best practices across the Department of Administration.
The Inclusion and Workforce Development Coordinator will be a critical position who will:
Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) best practices and resources across the Department of Administration.
Collaborate with agency leadership and team members at all levels to assess equity and inclusion awareness and capacity, identify activities to build equity and inclusion, and support implementation of those activities at all levels of the agency.
Enable staff to thrive in their position by enhancing professional development opportunities through training coordination, support, and facilitated opportunities.
Coordinate workforce development strategies, including coaching teams in recruitment and retention strategies.
Foster an engaged workforce by developing and supporting agency engagement activities.
This position will be part of Admin's Office of Operational Excellence (OpEx). OpEx's mission is to develop an innovative, engaged, and inclusive workplace by setting up teams to be team-centric, results driven, and resilient. This position will be critical in achieving OpEx's mission by leading initiatives, setting strategic direction for, and developing programs that strengthen an inclusive, equitable, and resilient workforce.
To promote a culture of flexibility, we offer staff a hybrid work environment that varies by team, position, and business needs. With a telework arrangement, onsite attendance may be required for team meetings or as requested by management to meet business needs. Completion of a telework agreement will be required.
Minimum Qualifications
Four (4) years of experience in DEAI programming and/or workforce development, promoting an inclusive and equitable work environment. This required experience must demonstrate at least one of the following:
Experience in planning, organizing, prioritizing, coordinating, and implementing diversity and inclusion (D&I) activities.
Experience related to recruitment, retention, engagement, career, or talent development.
Knowledge and skills in the design, development, and delivery of in-person, hybrid, and virtual training settings.
Project and/or program management experience.
Ability to facilitate discussions and/or strategic goal setting processes with agency leadership.
Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively promote DEAI initiatives and work through barriers that may arise that would impact program implementation.
Strong interpersonal and human relations skills to establish effective working relationships with internal and external individuals.
Strong interpersonal and human relations skills to negotiate and resolve issues in a fair, open, and ethical manner.
Creative problem-solving and innovative approaches.
Leadership and engagement skills to consult, facilitate, and influence staff.
Advanced skills in the use of various common Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Five (5) or more years of experience as described above.
Knowledge and understanding of the administrative, statutory, and programmatic policies and practices that impact implementation and delivery of DEAI initiatives.
Demonstrated experience in the following areas: new employee onboarding, career development, mentorship programs, continuous improvement, succession planning and knowledge transfer, team building, change management, conflict management theories, and/or facilitation skills.
Experience working within a labor/union environment and with different collective bargaining agreements.
Ability to deal with ambiguity as problems encountered may not have any existing and/or clearly defined solutions or precedence.
Experience championing change by continuously seeking and examining best practices.
Human relations skills to develop and cultivate a strong team environment.
Qualified Administrator (QA) of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) or attend training to obtain certification.
