Position: CSP PA Program Faculty - Director of Didactic Education Location: St. Paul, MN Job Id: PA123 # of Openings: 1 CSP PA Program - 1.0 FTE Principal Faculty- Director of Didactic Education The Department of Physician Assistant (PA) Studies at Concordia University - St. Paul (CSP) offers a full-time, tenure-track, 12-month faculty appointment for a director of didactic education (DDE). Rank is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The DDE will report directly to the PA Program Director upon appointment. The CSP PA Program is seeking Provisional Accreditation from the ARC-PA and is not currently an accredited PA Program. This position will be central to the initial development of the CSP PA Program during the Provisional Accreditation process. Position Primary Role: The Director of Didactic Education is responsible for developing and maintaining the didactic curriculum for the PA Program in the College of Health and Science, Department of PA Studies. Duties include conducting analyses of the didactic curriculum efficiency and designing and implementing data-based course modifications as appropriate; developing and implementing data-based learning and assessment tools for all didactic year courses; coordinating lectures and the associated academic schedule; supporting the teaching and the development of principal and instructional faculty; oversee the didactic curriculum to ensure effectiveness of education towards meeting both ARC-PA accreditation standards and the PA Program's mission, vision, and goals; and participate in general faculty activities such as research, service, teaching and student mentoring. This faculty position exemplifies the CSP mission, vision, and values and acts following CSP polices and procedures. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Oversight of the didactic year curriculum Establish and maintain course objectives and lecture objectives that map to program competencies/student learning outcomes for the didactic training portion of the curriculum, consistent with professional practice, the PA Program, and ARC-PA standards. Develop and maintain didactic year assessment tools and facilitate data-based curricular change decisions as needed. Support student learning activities to attain the program's academic competency standards. Maintain and disseminate the academic calendar, including ensuring compliance with initiatives affecting the PA Program calendar or academic schedule. Foster communication and collaboration among the PA faculty and staff through meetings and/or consultation. Coordinate all evaluation processes and ensure feedback and action plans are communicated promptly. Address student performance deficiencies and develop, implement, and monitor remediation plans effectively and timely. Ensure students are oriented to and maintain all policies and procedures related to the PA Program, the College of Health and Science, and CSP University. Maintain records regarding the attainment of didactic competencies and evaluations associated with didactic performance. Recruit and orient instructional faculty and engage in ongoing faculty assessment and mentoring to ensure lecturer adherence to program quality standards.
