This role has been designated as Hybrid work schedule and will be based out of our St. Paul, MN location. Flexible work-from-home options are available.
Job Summary:
Trane Technologies is hiring a Controls Hardware Engineer in Saint Paul, MN. The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for new hardware product development including schematic/PCB design, electrical component specification and selection, and developing/executing a test plan to ensure product quality.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for hardware design activities and deliverables within the Trane Technologies New Product Development process
Understanding of electrical system elements including wiring harnesses, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), and regulatory testing (UL, IEC, EMC, ESD, EFT).
Maintain support for existing products including a range of Life Cycle Management activities.
Design and analysis using the following tools/processes: worst-case analysis, engineering calculations, FMEAs, statistical reliability, and DFM (Design for Manufacturability).
Plans and supports verification and validation testing. Leverages the test data to understand and manage design trade-offs.
Communicate status, schedule, and technical risk to engineering leaders and program management.
Qualifications:
4-Year Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering degree preferred or similar electronics technical degree and experience.
Knowledge of electronic design and printed circuit board assembly.
Familiarity/experience with reliability testing techniques.
Ability to communicate with others both written and orally. Mobility within the work facility. Keyboarding.
Base Compensation Range is $63,000 to $133,000
