Clnical Abstractor - RN Job ID:57294 Department:Quality Measurement and Data City:St Paul, MN Location:RH - Regions Hospital and Clinics Position Type:Full-Time Anticipated Work Schedule:Monday - Friday 9:00-5:00 pm Shift:Day Hrs/Pay Period:80 The Clinical Abstractor-RN is responsible for medical records review and data abstraction in support of Core Measure and other internally and publicly reported data. This position ensures Regions Hospital meets regulatory requirements and with respect to data abstraction and share data to facilitate the identification of system/process problems to improve patient care and safety. In this role, you will utilize your clinical expertise to: identify and review medical records of patients that qualify for core measure data abstraction complete entry of abstracted data into appropriate systems and databases and ensure data integrity share data with key stakeholders including OFIs on a case by case basis as well as monthly and quarterly summary reports maintain strong expertise of the Core Measure reporting requirements and keep abreast of ongoing changes to the measures communicate changes with the guidelines with appropriate internal stakeholders, medical staff and leadership identify opportunities for improvement with abstraction process to increase quality and efficiency support medical staff in review of all patient mortalities for various units review and create death narratives and summaries in support of quality initiatives and physician case reviews provide support in reviewing patient safety events and determine classification and trending Required Qualifications: Associate's degree in Nursing Five (5) years of clinical experience Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Critical thinking, analytical and strong communication skills Knowledge of medical records Computer skills including text editing, database development and basic spreadsheets '> Job Description: The Clinical Abstractor-RN is responsible for medical records review and data abstraction in support of Core Measure and other internally and publicly reported data.
