Regions Hospital Clinical Pharmacist - Infectious Disease Specialist/Antimicrobial Stewardship in St. Paul, Minnesota

Regions Hospital is looking for an experienced Infectious Diseases (ID) Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to coordinate our Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) activities and other ID initiatives for Regions Hospital as well as the entire HealthPartners health system. The Regions Hospital ID Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will join a team of systemwide ID pharmacists and work collaboratively with ID physicians, infection prevention, microbiology, clinical pharmacy, medicine, nursing, and information technology to improve care delivered across our system of eight hospitals. The ID Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will work to implement quality improvement initiatives and generate data that drives improvements in patient care in addition to develop and maintain policies and procedures that enhance patient outcomes through safe, effective, cost-efficient, and appropriate medication therapy and use of diagnostic tests. Additional responsibilities include clinical patient case consultation, education of medical and pharmacy staff, promotion of evidence-based medicine, leadership of local antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, and standardization of practices across the continuum of care. The ID Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will perform all duties in a manner that promotes the mission and values of the organization. The ID Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge of The Joint Commission requirements for antimicrobial stewardship. Ability to develop annual quality and financial goals for the ASP. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, provide leadership, and take ownership of projects. Fluency in navigating the electronic medical record system (Epic), Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Suite products. Ability to evaluate and synthesize data and apply evidence-based medicine principles to practice. Ability to interpret large amounts of data for strategic decision making. Passion for and interest in teaching/precepting. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, day shift. Required Qualifications: Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy. Current licensure to practice pharmacy in the State of Minnesota. One of the following: Three or more years of current work experience in Infectious Diseases. Completion of a PGY-2 residency or fellowship. BPS Board Certification in Infectious Diseases (BCIDP). Preferred Qualifications: Infectious Diseases PGY-2 residency or fellowship. Experience as a member of an Antimicrobial Stewardship Program. Licensed preceptor with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy. This is a union 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) day shift position working in Saint Paul, MN. The full salary range for this position is $71.96-$81.94 per hour, based on years of experience. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and eligible for benefits.
