Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join our client's team on a contract-to-hire basis. As an Experienced Bookkeeper, you will manage all aspects of the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. Your expertise in bookkeeping principles and practices will play a key role in supporting decision-making processes and maintaining financial stability. This role offers a dynamic environment for a detail-oriented professional with 3-4 years of relevant experience in bookkeeping.

Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Maintenance:

  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Record daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.

  • Ensure all transactions are properly classified and coded in accordance with accounting standards.

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and prepare payments for approval.

  • Manage accounts receivable, generate customer invoices, and follow up on outstanding balances.

  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable statements to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

  • Bank Reconciliation:

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate recording of transactions.

  • Monitor bank account activity, investigate any discrepancies, and address banking issues promptly.

  • Prepare and maintain cash flow statements to track incoming and outgoing funds.

  • Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations based on analysis of financial data.

  • Payroll Processing:

  • Manage payroll processing, including calculation of wages, deductions, and taxes.

  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll disbursements, including direct deposits and checks.

  • Reconcile payroll transactions and prepare payroll tax filings in compliance with regulations.

  • Compliance and Auditing:

  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in annual audits by providing accurate and organized financial records and documentation.

  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.

  • 3-4 years of proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, GAAP, and financial reporting.

  • Experience with payroll processing, including knowledge of tax regulations and reporting.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights.

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work in a team environment.
