CDI Registered Nurse ASC in St. Louis Park, Minnesota

RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Imaging, is looking for an ASC Registered Nurse to join our team. As an ASC Registered, you will provide nursing care to patients in our outpatient Ambulatory Surgical Center. This position is fulltime (with the option of part-time 0.8 or 0.9) working 8 hour day shifts between the hours of 7:30am-5:00pm, no weekends or call; includes some travel to Woodbury. Essential DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: (85%) Patient Care * Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation and understanding, and reduce apprehension * Screens patient prior to procedure for any precautions or contra-indications * Educates patient and family about pre, intra, and post procedure care * Administers prescribed medications and treatments (i.e. contrasts and sedations) in accordance with approved standards and regulations for care * Prepares equipment and aids Physician during treatment and examination of patient * Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient * Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents * Monitors patient conditions including vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient * Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol * Documents patient history and physical assessment * Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or clinic policy including patient and family instruction * Ensures compliance with all HIPPA guidelines (10%) Department Support * Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities * Assists in establishing, evaluating and updating patient care standards * Maintains patient monitoring equipment and nursing equipment (5%) Performs other duties as assigned Required: * Associates or Bachelors Degree in Nursing * Registered Nurse with current appropriate state license * Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification * BLS and ACLS * Minimum of 6 months of experience in a hospital or clinic Preferred: * 2 years’ experience in a hospital or clinic * Experience in surgical centers/radiology * Bilingual RAYUS is committed to delivering clinical excellence in communities across the U.S., driven by our passion for and superior service to referring providers and patients.
