University of Minnesota Physicians Procedure Scheduler (St. Louis Park Clinic) - 1.0 FTE in St. Louis Park, Minnesota
As the multi-specialty group practice for the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical School, University of Minnesota Physicians has more than 950 physicians and 1,600 health professionals, providing clinical care in over 100 specialty and sub-specialty areas. Our mission is three-fold: delivering exceptional patient care, advancing medicine through research, and training the next generation of health professionals. Schedules and coordinates new patient consults and follow-up as well as any other medical appointments ordered by providers to ensure high level of patient and physician satisfaction for MINCEP patients. Assists in scheduling of TMS treatments and preforming TMS treatments. Serves as a liaison between referring clinics and the medical providers in the both clinics. Ensures all proper medical reports are retrieved prior to the new patient/or follow-up appointment. Manages medical records after completion of TMS treatments, including scanning relevant information into the EMR. Monitors patient schedule to ensure clinic and procedure schedules are maintained or optimized, and staff resources are efficiently used. Duties include, but are not limited to: Greets patients, verifies and completes necessary information for registration, charge capture and referral management processes. Validates insurance coverage. Resolves problems regarding exam orders and maintains/coordinates medical information and records. Keeps up to date with clinic procedures in order to explain exams in common language to patients. Provides secretarial/administrative support for physician/nursing staff, and clinic manager. Willingly takes on additional tasks as needed or as directed by clinic manager to support the clinic. In order to qualify for this role you must possess: Some post high school education. Knowledge of general medical terminology. Excellent organizational skills. Knowledge of medical office procedures, including scheduling and patient registration, and EMR. Three years of medical support experience and/or medical related education required. Previous patient scheduling, medical records and patient registration experience. Proven experience practicing good public relations, customer service, time management, prioritization and communication skills. Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, Brainsway and Magstim machines. Excellent patient relations skills required. Strong telephone and computer usage skills. Attention to detail, ability to follow direction. Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications: Medical Assistant or CMA. Good knowledge and use of medical terminology. Three years of medical office experience and/or training including patient scheduling, procedure scheduling, medical records and patient registration. Experience using TMS machines. Epic skills.
