Responsibilities In the role of Highway/Roads Engineer, we'll count on you to: Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on the engineering development of urban and rural highway/roadway projects ranging from feasibility analysis to preliminary and final design Oversee the work of CAD Designers and EITs Lead detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projects Assume some project management duties and interact with clients as needed Participate in professional organizations with an emphasis on the transportation industry Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications A minimum of 3 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design Experience involving urban and rural highway/roadway design including but not limited to corridor, interchange, intersection, ADA, and bikeway design, and preparation of plans, cost estimates and specifications Preference given to local candidates *LI-BC1 Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design Professional Engineer (PE) license Hands-on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineeringsoftware such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/orAutodesk Infraworks and Civil3d MS Office knowledge Excellent communication and organizational skills Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
