Park Nicollet Health Services ER Crisis Social Worker- MSW in St. Louis Park, Minnesota

Methodist Hospital is looking to hire a Er Crisis Worker to join our Care Integration team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day. The EC Crisis Social Worker works independently, providing social work services, psychosocial and psychiatric assessment, treatment planning and referral, to patients and families in the Emergency Center at Methodist Hospital. This role provides crisis intervention, counseling, and psychotherapy as appropriate within the Emergency Center setting. This role is responsible for providing education and leadership to other healthcare professionals in the psychosocial aspects of patient care. Maintains excellent working relationships with staff in Emergency Center, hospital patient care units, and community resources. Role will enhance Hospital Care Management department through active participation in staff meetings and proactively identifying problems and solutions in the work environment Maintains regular and timely attendance, protects confidentiality & participates in all mandatory educational requirements. Work Schedule: Coverage position- evening, weekend, day shifts. Schedule is a mix of 8-430p, 9-530p and 330-12a, with the greatest need being weekend evenings and weekends. The requirement is to pick up a minimum 2 shifts a month with a required 2 holidays a year. Required Qualifications: MSW-Master of Social Work required. LICSW or LGSW on a clinical track, MN Board of Social Work Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Personal Computer, Telephone, Fax Machine, Photocopier, Printer, and electronic medical record. Preferred Qualifications: 2 or more years of social work experience in a mental health setting and/or healthcare setting is strongly preferred Knowledge of the values, principles, and methodologies of social work Ability to evaluate the level of lethality and risk in suicidal/homicidal patients quickly with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to integrate social, medical, and psychotherapeutic data in order to diagnose, form a treatment plan and to provide appropriate crisis intervention and psychotherapy. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, colleagues, and community organizations.
