Position Description

The terminal operator will perform liquid product handling of a variety of chemicals and petrochemicals in an industrial work environment. The product handling will be by way of barges, tank-to-tank transfers, tank car, and tank truck, boiler operations and/or other work required within the terminal. The operator will also perform associated work as directed by supervisor consistent with standard operating procedures, federal, state and local regulations in a safe, timely and cost effective manner.

Specific tasks include but are not limited to: • Climbing elevated tanks to determine the volume of material in the tank via standard and precise gauging process • Transferring chemical and/or petroleum products to and from various bulk containers including rail cars and tank trucks • Opening and closing valves, connecting and disconnecting hoses in order to allow for the proper product transfer • Performing daily walk around inspections of the entire liquid handling equipment over a multi-acre facility • Performing heating functions of required products in terminal storage facilities and mode units as required; operation of an industrial boiler may be required • Conducting spill cleanup operations of hazardous materials as required • Performing housekeeping responsibilities around operational activities, on the grounds and at the buildings • Properly labeling containers and vessels as required per regulations • Participating in company training programs and related testing • Participating in safety programs and initiatives • Performing all work in compliance with Company standards and procedures requirements Specific technical requirements: • Experience/familiarity with pipe wrenches, box wrenches and other similar tools • Experience working in an industrial environment • Excellent mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, fractions, multiplication and percentages) are required

Position Requirements

Flexible schedule to work during varying rotational shifts and /or weekend/holiday work is required. Overtime is voluntary, though can become mandatory as required.

• The ability to work from written and verbal instructions • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules, as well as, take on additional job responsibilities as needed • Superior work ethic and dependability • Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions as outside work is mandatory • Physical requirements include, but may not be limited to, walking up and down stairs/ladders including heights over 40 feet, negotiating uneven surfaces, and carry up to 50 pounds • Must be able to wear standard PPE (hard hat, chemical goggles, protective rain gear, flame retardant clothing and steel toe boots) • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers • Applicant must successfully complete a background check, physical and drug screen upon offer acceptance • Complete other related duties as assigned

Preferred experience, skills and knowledge: • Experience with handling hazardous liquid chemicals • Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, Industrial Hygiene and other industry regulations a plus
