Job Title:Skilled Surgical Instrument Maker - 1st Shift

Objective:

Finishing manufacture of hand-held surgical instruments.

Responsibilities:

  • Continual learning of new skills including filing, bending, brazing, and other manufacturing techniques.
  • Perform precision metal working, including belting, grinding, polishing, and drilling.
  • Use measurement instruments including micrometers and calipers.
  • Read blueprints and/or technical drawings.
  • Finish manufactured hand-held instruments to meet or exceed quality standards for form, fit, function, and finish.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Machining, Planning, Engineering, and Packaging Departments.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of Apprentice program or equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of instrument manufacturing experience (preferred experience with manufacturing of surgical instruments).
  • Hand metal working experience.
  • Ability to visualize shapes.
  • Assessment will be required.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written manufacturing procedures.
  • Previous experience preferred from other shops that provide surgical instruments.
  • Excellent manual dexterity.

Experienced Journeyman Pay Rates:Starting from $31.11/hour; up to $34.88/hour
