Lockbox Processor

Job Description:

Summary:

This position processes payments and checks that are sent to the post office and delivered to the bank daily. The mail is sorted and checks are extracted from envelopes for processing. The checks are totaled for each client on a daily basis for immediate deposit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sorts mail and prepares deposits for processing.

  • Processes deposits prior to the daily deadline using system software and processing machines.

  • Responds to client calls regarding lockbox detail.

  • Scans multiple deposits consisting of checks, invoices, etc.

  • Prepares processed deposits for mail, courier, etc.

  • Communicates with necessary areas within the bank for transfer of all daily data.

  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must exhibit characteristics of a team player who can work independently as well as within a group setting.

  • Excellent organizational skills, commitment to meeting deadlines and the ability to work well under pressure.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of client transactions and bank records.

  • Strong organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Requires strong communication skills both written and verbal, good time management skills and the ability to initiate and embrace change.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to operate computers and a variety of office equipment.

  • Highly manual position that requires sorting and opening bulk mail.

  • Must be proficient in 10-key.

  • Must be able to lift at least 10 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Previous banking experience preferred

  • Previous general office work experience preferred

Computer and Software Skills:

  • Skilled in operation of a personal computer, including Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Google Apps

  • Core Banking Software / CRM Software

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • None

Additional Information:

  • Must be able to work overtime as needed. Overtime may include some weekends.
