General Summary of the Job:

The Head of IT Transformation at Siemens Industry Software is leading all IT transformation resources. These consist of several teams that cover Demand Management, Architecture and Project Team. These teams are responsible to drive all major transformation activities where IT supports the business to make them happen. The role includes budget responsibility for all assigned transformation projects and will include considerable support by external partners. Beside leading managers within the Transformation team, the role also requires extensive collaboration with stakeholders on the business side. These include the top executives of DI SW and potentially for some projects beyond. Overall this role requires great management as well as communication skills.

Essential Functions:

The Head of IT Transformation will be responsible for leading a team of people managers (8-12 managers) and highly skilled experts (100-120 individuals) including project managers and:

  • Creates IT value for our businesses by taking end-to-end responsibility for the assigned Projects and initiatives, which are decisive for the future success of DI SW and therefore have direct business impact.

  • Has excellent communication skills based on thorough IT understanding to be able to be a trustworthy partner of the business executives

  • Manages initiatives, projects and costs proactively and keeps an constant eye on true business benefits and business stakeholder satisfaction.

  • Manages a sizeable team that drives innovations and that believes in continuous improvement, likes to be empowered, and believes in the value of collaboration.

  • Is able to deal with changing priorities and an everchanging environment (VUCA).

  • Optimizes external service provider management to deal with work peaks and knows how to manage and leverage them.

  • Has a strong business orientation that helps to identify and focus on IT initiatives that provide the most value to the business

  • Is an important member of the senior IT management team and helps drive IT to success

  • Collaborate closely with IT management and IT Operations to ensure smooth handover of new systems and functions to daily operation

Skills and Abilities Required:

Critical skills/experience needed for this role-

  • Wide business process knowledge, innovation drive, communication, and understanding of financial fundamentals

  • Great understanding of the IT tools and technology that are used to provide the assigned services, as well as a good understanding of the IT trends and innovations in the respective technology field.

Key Leadership Requirements-

  • Good business understanding, service management, and basic financial knowledge.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Leadership skills with proven ability to manage large teams and ability to drive timely decisions.

  • Must be a flexible and creative individual capable of leading and managing multiple

  • priorities and projects in a fast paced, often ambiguous, and diverse environment

  • Needs to be able to anticipate the skills required in the future and prepare the IT transformation team to be able to build those

  • Highly self motivated and able to motivate others

  • Management experience required.

Education and Experience Requirement-

  • Technical Master’s degree or fifteen or more (15+) years of IT and/or business experience.

  • Ten or more (10+) years of management experience.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Normal office environment.

  • Ability to travel (domestic and global) <10-15%.

The salary range for this position is $197,700 to $355,900 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
